Hi everyone!
Me and my boyfriend are starting our first interrail tour on September 6th.
The travel route we came up with looks like this:
Istanbul – Sofia – Bar – Belgrad – Sarajevo – Budapest – Munich (home)
We were thinking about either buying the 7day or 5day Balkan Flexi Pass for the Balkan States.
We are flying to Istanbul, where we would like to stay for three days.
Then we wanted to enjoy either the Black Sea in Turkey or the Aegean Sea in Greece. (Does anyone know a quiet and not too overcrowded campsite?)
Then we would take the Balkan Express from Istanbul to Sofia (dep: 22:00, arr: 10:52).
After two or three days in Sofia we would like to go to the coast of Montenegro, where we would like to stay at a campsite.
Could somebody please tell me the easiest and fastest way to get from Sofia to Bar? Do we really have to go over Belgrad, or is there a bus connection in Nis to Bar?
And could anyone recommend some spots/campsites at the coast of Montenegro?
From Bar we wanted to take the train (day or night train, not sure yet) to Belgrad, where we would like to stay for two or three days.
If we have enough time we would also like to go to Sarajevo for one or two days. If not we are going directly to Budapest. And after three days we would go back home to Munich.
How does the route sound to you? Is it reasonable for three or four weeks? Also, we would like to spend no more than 650 €. Whenever it is possible we would like to camp and if not, we are staying in hostels.
Any suggestions are welcome!
Thank you in advance!
Best, Denise
