The Rail Planner App say there is a transfer in the Prague-Krakow Euronight when you arrive Ostrava. But most webpages and the Interrail web say this is a night train. Will it count as 2 days of travelling or only one?

it's important to know the date you will be travelling.

NORMALLY EC443 has three cars numbered 348,349,350 which are moved onto EN406 at Bohumin in the early hours of the morning. And if you are booked into one of those cars it will count as one overnight train so will only use one day of travel if you don't travel again after Krakow.

But there a lot of alterations in the next few weeks and the through cars don't seem to be running on a lot of dates, in which case any change of train after midnight will trigger the second travel day. Train 406 is altered a lot from 10th December and the through cars may not run at all.

The idea is to travel the 3rd of August. Is too far away but we are planning the Airbnb's ans hostels now, and one night less is a big money saver

If the night train starts before midnight and there is no train changing inbetween it will count as 1 day. Otherwise 2 days.

In PL a bed in a hoStel will cost (much, if booked smartly and not now for then) less as even a bed-surcharge in a couchette (you /en/ all call it sleeper, read seat61.com for the explanation between sleeperbed and couchette).
For travel IN PL only there are also cheaper local passes (say regional trains for around 7-8€/day), but good planning is needed then and lots of patience.

It is far too early for reliable schedules next August for most routes in Europe, especially night trains which can be affected by track engineering work. But I'm not convinced that the through cars will still be running, a change of trains looks likely.

I've just found some partial info for 2024 and it looks like train 443 is being renumbered to 441 but will have through cars as before being coupled on to 406 at Bohumin. Three cars, seats, couchettes and beds..
