Hi!
Me and a friend are going on a 15 day trip this summer. We have the exact order we've liked to go, and have started to book places - our trip is as follows: Budapest - Vienna - Salzburg - Venice (incl. day trip to Verona) - Lauterbrunnen - Vevey - Flying back (to London) from Geneva. So we have 8 days worth of trips to make, including overnight for Salzburg-Venice.
As is the subject, given we know the dates we are going places etc, would it be wise to just purchase an interail pass and all the reservations/supplements necessary to go with it before we go? Obviously this would mean we are rigid in our timings but as we've booked hostels etc anyway that doesn't really matter to us (we knew where we wanted to go!) Is it simple in purchasing the reservations/supplements? And do we get physical print-outs of the reservations, or collect them at the corresponding stations or ?, how does this work? (sorry for the very simple questions!)
Thank you for your help - as you can tell, haven't used Interrail before, the last trip we did was 1 point-to-point in Italy so we didn't need to consider a pass or anything as it was just one trip! Thanks!!! :D

well, apparently you are smart enough to get the pro+s + cons yourself-many people cannot even think of that beforehand.
To make a RES_note that many are NOT available online for just the extra (online often only gives full fare tickets). You SHOULD always get a ticket-via email or as PDF to print. IF it includes a ''supplement'' (in the idea of the railways-not every extra means a supplmt!) then you always get some form of ticket. It varies per country as to how you get it-in some countries you get a code, with which you can go to any machine IN that country to have the ticket printed out. Just a reservation for a seat is nowadays often just a email-can print or scrible down the figures.
The best combo of pro and con for most people is to on ARRIVAL in some city stay the odd min. longer in the station, get your info. go to the counter and arrange it all. Then you have peace of mind to see town.
