Hello folks,

I've got my eurorail global pass for 30 days, and I would Like to ask you some tips and advices..
I'm planning my trip for the 1st of october, starting in na flight from France to Greece.

After 5 days in Greece, I would like to take the first of the 30 days in a route Athens/thessalonik - sofia, and I read some stuff that made me afraid about the inicial step.

Anyway, My trip will last 35 days in the total, and the inicial plan is the following:

From To Time
Athens Thessaloniki 4:25
Thessaloniki Sofia 6:40
Sofia Bucuresti 9:00
Bucuresti Budapest 13:50
Budapest Wien 2:45
Wien Praha 4:30
Praha Berlin 4:35
Berlin Bruxelles 6:07
Bruxelles Amsterdam 1:53
Amsterda Frankfurt 6:18
Frankfurt Bern 3:55
Bern Paris/Madrid 14:50
Madrid Lisbon 14:00
Lisbon Barcelona 19:10
Barcelona Lyon 18:00

For the time above, I'm relying on the timetable of the eurail.com.

For those who have experience with one of those routes, please give advices...

I'm counting like 4 days of delay in the total of the trip, do you think it can work?

Thank's in advance,
Francisco Pontilho

Hi Fran!

nice that you want to explore Europe by train :)

here, on the forum you can find lot of interesting informations, itineraries, advices, etc...

but first thing i want to tell you is that you should look for information about Greece in a part of the forum about Greece :arr: https://rail.cc/en/forum-greece-train-travel

the rest information about train you can find without any problems but if you need to know something special just ask us :)

First of all, thank's for answering my post.

The main question is: Can I reach Sofia from anywhere in Greece, using train?

I know that's not to expansive for take buses, but you know, us traveller, we have to save as much as we can to not to loose any part of the hole trip! =P

I really appreciate your assistence, thank's again.

By train only not, you can take train from Thessaloniki to Serres and from there bus to Sofia or direct bus from Thessaloniki to Sofia.
