Is it possible? Too dangerous? Why?
From Split to Bonn/ Germany. 3-4 Persons.How are your experience?
You can often here its dangerous cause of the crazy traffic on the streets everywhere.

THis site is for trains-or at least overland transportations.
Hitching is a thing from pre 2000. Nowadays-there is www etc. there are in place ´ride-share´ sites that link up with drivers with some empty seat who are willing to take paying pax. Free will be extremely hard to get though
