Hello Peter, flow and other dudes..
just need confirmation and maybe help, in couple weeks will go to Sziget festival but there are no train from/to Greece.
So here is my plan.
Thessaloniki -> Skopje (20 euros) or Nis (40 euros) by bus
Nis -> Belgrade -> Budapest by train without IR ticket
Sziget festival yeah ( we need a rail dude flag 8) )
Budapest -> Zagreb by train
Zagreb -> Belgrade by train
Belgrade -> Nis by train
Nis -> Thessaloniki by bys
I am just posting to check if all connections are fine and also to help me plan better the trip.
Maybe will make a stop to Bosnia from Zagreb and then go to Nis but i am not sure about train connections.
Should i skip Zagreb and go to Spli? Will spend 2-3 days at each city except Nis and Thessaloniki.

Hi!
Do you have any bus schedules for the bus to Skopje or Nis? Makes suggesting onward routes easier. ;)
Anyhow, Nis might be better as there are more frequent connections to Beograd.
From Beograd, trains to Budapest leave at 0646, 1005 and 2125.
Regarding your route is certainly best as it is know. If going to Split you will have to return to Zagreb to get to Beograd - there is a direct train only once a week. Or go go from Split with bus or boat down to Ploce and then again by train via Mostar to Sarajveo. From Sarajevo you then have connection back to Beograd.
Or go Zagreb - Sarajevo - Beograd.
