I am just wondering if someone could help me with a question....

I am travelling using the Interrail ticket in August but I am a bit confused if you can use the ticket on all train lines.

For example i want to visit a campsite in The Black Forest, Germany and need to go to the station Bad Wildbad from Essen. Will that be ok with the pass? or can you only use the major routes?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi!

Usually you can use small branch lines as well, of course. :)

It usually depends on who operates the line. In general, there is one state railway company in every one one of the participating InterRail countries - and you usually can use all their trains, from high speed trains (which may require a reservation) on main lines to night trains and small lines.
In addition to these big companies there are some countries where other train operators run some lines - most of them can be used with InterRail as well, others only grant a certain discount, others do not accept InterRail. It would be too complicated to list all special arrangements here, but if you have specific questions just ask. :)

Regarding travel to Bad Wildbad, yes you can go there with your InterRail ticket without paying extra.

Speaking of smaller line, from my experience you can also use it on S-Bahn lines in Germany and Austria (Wien) :)
