Hey Dudes,
tormorrow I'll be travelling from Paris to Barcelona by nighttrain. I just called someone from the Dutch rails and she said that the tickets are all taken by tomorrow probably, ánd that the nighttrain costs me €82 !!!!! :O
Whut, how can that be?
Thanks for reading :)

if you want to use direct train the ticket is expensive, as you know.
1)look for night train to Cerbere(with supplement) and then you will take free regional train to Barcelona
this is the train: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/paris-portbou-icn-3731/78
2)if not, you can also go to Toulouse(night train and supplement like above, not goes every day!) and then by regional trains to Barcelona (it's whole day travel but probably you will have problems with supplement for this train to Cerbere; check it as fast as possible!)
2)and the last night possibility is train to Irun (night train and supplement like above) but you have to change train in Biarritz and go trough Toulouse, Narbonne, Cerbere to Barcelona using regional train

good luck!

Hi.
Be happy that the direct night train is booked out - as like Hetman said: it is very expensive! And not worth!
Here are as well other connections:
https://rail.cc/en/train/paris-to-barcelona
I just checked the one Paris - Perpignan (then use the Petit Train Jaune) and cross the Pyrenees:
dep: 2149 / arr: 1636
How to book... do it online at [ux]https://rail.shop/sncf/reservation[/ux]
Peter :)

Hi Peter,
You have stated making seat reservation only by using loyalty card method ( Abo Forfait 2e ). Is it really possible to make reservations without actually having that loyalty card? We are planning to use Paris > Portbou on 22.12.2012 and i think we'll have some problems making a reservation in Paris train station ( We'll arrive on 20.12.2012. ) So what do you think?

sometimes yes, sometimes no, it depends how you do it. In some cases (either online or via the yellow machine in FR) you have to fill in the nr of that card-which makes it impossible to do for IR-holders. It also varies with type of train- TGV or Lunea/IC. And maybe, those burocrats at SNCF (when they are not on strike) have finally come to grips and ousted IR-holders doing it.
BTW-= the official idea is that trains should have small quota of IR-seats for just 6 eur, and IF that quota is taken- ANY available seat should be available at the price of 18 EUR-but it seems, that NOOne seems to know how to handle the computer in France to get this official price out of it. Maybe thats also one of their inofficial socialist strike methods.

Hi.
The information of the Abo 2em Forfait is old. See the date.
It was officially possible for the night trains some time ago - and seemed to be accepted in TGV trains.
For now: I couldn't get an official information from SNCF, no details, nothing. Only standard replies with no useful content. SNCF seems not to be interested to have rail travelers in their trains. Currently it is like nltrainer said: EUR 6 for a limited number of seats (sometimes I have the impression these are only one or two seats per train), then EUR 18 (but also heard about EUR 12, 15, 18, 20, 24, ...). o)
Your options: buy the reservation you need for France here at the railcc shop together with your Rail Pass - or try it somewhere at a railway station - also on your way to France (also outside of France, for example in Germany).

Thank you both for information and answering me.
Regarding Peter,
I think i can't able to use railcc Seat Reservation System to book seat reservations because it gaves error Online prices are currently unavailable for the selected route.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
when i try to book from Paris to anywhere near Spain-border /or a way to get Barcelona especially on 21.12.12 or 22.12.12. Am i doing something wrong?
I think we can pay up to 25 euros but nothing more than and i will be pleased if you are able to find a way to connect us between Paris > Barcelona on 21 or 22 of December :) Because I couldn't able to make any reservations on railcc Shop. ( however trying Abo forfait 2e ; i can just make reservations :) )
Thank you :)

Hi.
Okay, tested as well. Not available currently as rail pass reservation. But that's the problem: if the official responsible railway company SNCF doesn't offer these special reservations online, it is double work for projects to offer it. If they don't give us access to their systems, then :(
So you have to try to get it somewhere at a railway station.

Ok, again thank you for your effort and one more question on this issue. Now, I'm in Germany and do you think DB Reisezentrum's can arrange reservations for ICN, TGV? or should i wait to try it in Paris?

Do it in Germany at the railway station. They are able to make the booking for you! :)
It is - by the way - always the best way to get your reservations at a railway station directly, much better than online. :)

Hello and thanks again Peter for the info :) But unfortunately, lady said that reservations for interrail is full and tried to ask other connections like Paris > Figueres or other TGV connections but she said she can't see even the trains. Again here , railcc is my only chance where i can ask for next move so really thanks for helping on this issue. What we should do next? Should we wait for arriving Paris to make reservations for making any TGV connections to Barcelona? Thanks! :)

Mmmmh... hard to say, as you picked the weekend (Friday and Saturday) directly when Christmas holidays starts. So there won't be a lot free seats left booking one week before. :|
You can also try the night train to Latour de Carol and then down to Barcelona. Much more scenic than any other route:
Paris - Latour de Carol: https://rail.cc/de/interrail-nachtzug/paris-latour-de-carol-icn-3971/76
Latour de Carol - Barcelona:
Otherwise ask for the TGVs - if you can't get a reservation in Germany, I'm sure, you won't get it in France neither.
Peter :)
