Hello to everyone

This is my first interrail journey. I am a bit confused about trains. I bought a 10 day pass in 22 days. I will visit 4 or 5 countries. I start my journey from Frankfurt.
First I will go to Amsterdam from Frankfurt. Should I go to Amsterdam from Frankfurt or from Berlin? I want to use free trains.

I found a route to Amsterdam from Frankfurt.
Frankfurt 23.24 Köln 01.56 IC Train
Köln 06.25 Mönchengladbach 07.20 RE train
Mönchengladbach 07.25 Venlo 07.56 DPN train
Venlo 08.19 Eindhoven 09.00 IC train
Eindhoven 09.02 Amsterdam 10.22 IC train
there is no reservation seen for all these train. But it will be a bit tiring journey.

The alternative route from Frankfurt to Berlin then from Berlin to Amsterdam.
Frankfurt 00.54 Berlin 07.20 CNL train
Berlin 07.38 Amersfoort 14.22 IC Train
Amersfoot 14.29 Amsterdam 15.03 IC Train.
How much do I have to pay for a seat reservation on CNL train?
Which route is better?. Can you suggest a better route?

I will stay 2 or 3 nights at Amsterdam and then go to Paris. But I think that I should go Lille first and stay there for 1 night. Will that be better?
Amsterdam Centraal 11.53 Antwerpen Central 14.00 IC train
Antwerpen Central 14.05 Kortrijk 15.21 IC Train
Kortrijk 15.26 Lille 15.52 IC train
There is five minutes between arrival time and departure times. Is it enough??? Will it be a problem

After staying at Lille
Lille 12.02 Paris 13.02 TGV (How much is the reservetion fee?? 6€ ???)

Stay at Paris for 4 nights and go to Barcelona.

Paris 21.49 Portbou 08.23 INZ (How much is the reservation?)
Portbou 10.29 Barcelona 13.09 R train

I do not make a plan about returning route. I have to return frankfurt at the end of my trip. I have to go to zurich before frankfurt. Should I return Paris to go to zurich or go to marseille or nice to go to zurich???

Sorry for my bad english. I really need your help!!! Thanks for your helps :)

from Barcelona to Zurich you can go using 3 ways:

a) 5PM Barcelona-Cerbere(night train to Moulhouse)-Basel-Zurich 8AM - cheap night way buy a little bit no comfortable because you have to wake up about 6 o'clock in Moulhouse; only supplement in night train Cerbere-Moulhouse (6euro for comfortable reclining seat, 17euro for 6 person couchette and the prices are the same like form Paris to Cebrere/Portbou)

b) Barcelona-Figueres-Paris-Zurich (3xTGV, suplementes about 25euro, all-day trip, from 9AM to 11PM)

c) 5 PM Barcelona-Cerbere(night train to Paris)-Zurich 1PM(TGV); supplement like in train to Moulhouse above + TGV to Zurich 8euro so from 14euro for supplements

Hi.
I hope you bought your Interrail pass here at railcc - to support as well this answer. :)

Frankfurt - Amsterdam: direct ICE trains - free of reservation fees.
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/ice-deutsche-bahn/11
Several connections by day.
A late one for example:
Frankfurt(Main)Hbf dep: 1929
Amsterdam Centraal arr: 2325

Frankfurt - Berlin | Berlin - Amsterdam is not really a direct way! ;)
Except you want to stay a day in Berlin.
Frankfurt - Berlin: also by direct ICE trains, FREE of extra fees.
Berlin - Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/berlin-to-amsterdam

Amsterdam - Paris: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/amsterdam-to-paris
If you want to stop in Lille, do it. Simply avoid THALYS trains and TGVs if you want to save money.

Paris - Barcelona: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/paris-to-barcelona
Cross the Pyrenees by Petit Train Jaune.

Peter :)

It is 6€ if you are early in booking, if there are already a certain amount of other inter-railers it is considerably more expensive. If this happens then look at https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/tgv-sncf/42#p13819
