Hi guys.
I'm wondering how we can get from Algeciras to Barcelona. I've tried the routeplanner på it sends me out in the weidest route. Which one is the fastest connection and which one would be the cheapest (there will of course be some supplements because we are in spain :P )

it's a long way so there is not any direct train.
here you have possibilities:
1) 8:45 Algeciras-Cordoba 12:01, supplement about 6 euro;
4 hours to take a walk, eat something in Cordoba
16:44 Cordoba-Barcelona 21:35, supplement 10 euro// about 16euros for both supplements
2) (with night train)
15:05 Algeciras - 20:25 Madrid atocha, supplement about 6 euro
have to change stations: atocha -> charmatin but you will have enough time to do it
22:50 Madrid charmatin - Barcelona 8:12, supplements-> https://rail.cc/en/night-train/madrid-cerbere-estr-370/84 //from about 13 euros for both supplements

between Atocha and Chamartin=the main estaciones in MADrid, are very frequent Cercanias trains=suburban, most doubledeck, via 2 routes now under the centre. These are by RENFE and free-but you must ask for a ticket to pass the turnstiles. (and agin to exit at the other side) The trip takes just 11-12 mins.
The metro cost just 1 €/ride in the city.
