Hi!

Me and my friend are going to do a interrail this summer. But we are a little confused if we need to buy 5 or 7 travel days within a month. We want to catch a noturn train from Muniche (Germany) to Florence (Italy) but it isn't direct - we need to make a stop and switch trains. The same happens with us going from Florence (Italy) to Lyon (France). This travels that start in the afternoon till the morning of the next day count as one day or two days?

Thank you
Leonor

If there is no change it is one day. If you have to change trains after midnight it is 2 days.

The Florence-Lyon overnight options are worse because they have long waits at stations which are basically overnight stops. Make sure you know where you will be waiting.

go to community.eurail.com-far more and uptodate info
For deutschky who dont know nothing yet; ALL IC trains=zuege in IT and FR -also those shiny TGV etc. MUST be REServed and in high summer that can be a big PITA for those young passholders. (that is pain in the ass). Expect some to be full weeks before!
