Hi, I'm finding the country of residence thing a bit worrying.

My girlfriend is Polish but has been studying in the UK for 4 years. She would like the UK to be her 'country of residence' on her pass so that we can travel in Poland. I have read the official advice but want a bit of reassurance. Obviously her passport won't confirm she has lived in the UK. The best we can come up with is something like 6 months bank statements or some letters from the university. Would these be sufficient? It seems a bit unclear and perhaps down to the mood of the train conductor on the day...

Thanks, Donald.

Hi Donald.
Official documents are always the best. Maybe a combination of a written paper of the university including a good looking stamp.
And something of the things the official definition tells:
You can prove your current address by showing governmental certificates, bank receipts, telephone bills or student visa.

On an other official place it says as additional information: You can prove your current address by showing governmental certificates, bank receipts, telephone bills or student visa. One of these documents should mention your address, and a date of longer than 6 months ago.

And yes ... the rule is :'(
Peter :)
