Hi,
My family and I are planning to go to 4 bordering countries for 4 weeks, so it's pretty obvious that we should get the Select Pass. We're aiming to visit 1 country per week. However, I got confused with the travelling days. If we get the 10 days, then does it mean we can only travel by train for 10 days? What if we want to take the train everyday to tour each country? And then I found out about the 1 month consecutive travel with the Global pass. Would you recommend getting the 4 country Select pass and then just get a separate Italy pass so we can travel for unlimited days? Or get the Global pass to avail of the 1 month unlimited travel? Thanks for your help.

Hi.
It depends on the countries you want to travel in and the distances you travel There. Sometimes single train tickets may be cheaper than one travel day of an Eurail Pass.
In this case, the Eurail Select Pass 4 countries would be the best choice.
But if you don't want to care about single train tickets and just relax, having more than 10 travel days within 1 month, it is the EuRail GLOBAL Pass - 1 month continuous you have to chose.
Have a look on the SAVER Passes - you have to travel together as group all the time, but you will save a lot of money! :)

Thanks, Peter. We are going to Spain, France, Switzerland and Italy. And London hopefully so I know I still need to get Eurostar tickets. Can you buy single train tickets from this website as well? Or is it better to buy them when we get there? So the Global pass is valid pretty much for all the trains, right? Does it include buses too? Thanks again so much. :D

Hi Joyce.
Buses are not included in Eurail. Except if they official replace trains due to track works.
Some trains need an extra reservation which might be very expensive sometimes, for example using the Eurostar train to London.
In this case, it will be cheaper to use Eurail for Spain, France, Switzerland and Italy and do London by normal single train tickets (try to get a special fare directly at the Eurostar website).
Check train connections here: https://rail.cc/en/search-eurail-route
And possible extra fees here (also listed at the link above): https://rail.cc/en/eurail-train-reservation
Traveling in these countries, I recommend to buy single tickets (if you want) directly at these railway companies.
Spain: renfe.es (online booking also possible on the recommended website)
Italy: trenitalia.it (they often have special offers. Buy online, print it out at a station in Italy)
Switzerland: sbb.ch - I am not up to date if they sell online.
France: sncf-voyages.com - as well - buy online, print it out at a station
And if you like to support our work and all the information we collect and offer here for travellers, buy your official Eurail passes directly in our partner: [ux]https://rail.shop/eurail[/ux]

You've been a great help. Thank you. I will get our Eurail Select passes from your site and will try getting the single train tickets from the sites that you gave me. We don't go till July 2012 so I will get them maybe in February. Thanks again! :)

Hello again Peter! So I got the Eurail Select Saver for me and my brother for 4 countries from you guys. The shipping was so fast, thanks! Say we were done Spain, then France, and then head on to Switzerland, can we go back to France one more time, or would we have to stay in Switzerland only since we have already marked France on our travel journal? Or will we have to mark France the second time around as our 4th country? :'( Thanks for your help!

Hi Joyce...
Thank you that you support our project! :)
And if you like send me by mail your order ID beginning with AA - so I can update you to PLUS (only the forum has a premium area now - other special features will follow the next weeks).
To answer your question:
You can travel back to France as often as you want, even to Spain or wherever you want. There is no limitation in border crossings for the countries which belong to your Eurail pass. :)

Hello Peter,
I failed to get reservations for our trip from Barcelona to Benicarlo and I need it for this Saturday. We will be leaving Calgary on Friday so I don't have enough time to get the reservations in the mail. Is it possible to have them emailed to me so I can print them before we leave? If not, what do I do? Can I book reservations when we get to Barcelona? I'm in a bit of a panic! :!: Thanks for your help.

Hi Joyce.
You can buy it in Barcelona at the station. At the station is the recommended and standard way to get reservations! Often cheaper than online. :)
