Hi everyone!

The latter part of my interrail trip will be in Norway in the beginning of August. Me and my girlfriend will not book any hostels, so we'll spend nights in nightrains between Oslo-Bergen and Oslo-Trondheim. The rest of the time we'll be walking around, including in the countryside - and sometimes we plan to leave the train during the night in the middle of the countryside (Myrdal, for example).

Since it's hot summer in the rest of Europe, we don't want to take heavy and hot jackets with us, but will two sweaters and a t-shirt on top of each other be enough in the Norge summer?

Hej,

last year (mid August) I was at Lofoten, Trondheim, Bergen, Oslo). While it was a really nice sunny and warm day in Trondheim where we walked around with shirts only it was not that nice in Bergen and Oslo. Overcast, a little rain and we had to wear sweaters.

At Svolvaer/Lofoten there was a furious storm overnight and we were glad that we didnt pitch our tent but stayed at the ferryport overnight (altough it is officially closed overnight no one kicked us out...).

However, consider that the big cities are all at sea level, whereas if you are going to the countryside you will quickly be at a certain height where it will be colder. Myrdal is certainly colder than Oslo due to that. I think unless you want to make big hiking tours you should be fine but take some rain and wind proof jacket with you!

it is completely unpredictable-you may be lucky, as flow, or it may rain without end for all those days. Bergen is the city with the heaviest rainfall in Europe. In fact the rains will-potentially-be much more of a ''problem'' to cope with there. But ir remains a pure lottery.

Thanks for the advice to both of you. I'll be checking the weather in advance as we go along, are the predictions trustable, or is the weather too volatile to predict a few days in advance?
