Where did you try the booking??

According to the incredibly slow Croatian Railways website the overnight train to Slovenia (only 3 nights per week) does not run via Ljubljana - you would need to change at Maribor at 04:17 which sounds miserable. But the Nightjet website which handles reservations has no availablity that week so either it's full or they are arguing over a diversion.

The more reasonable alternative is one of the later train to Zagreb and change there. Theroretically the connection is off the second train but I would go for the first to allow more time in case of delay because trains from Zagreb to Ljubljana are not frequent. But the Croatain webiste doesn't seem to offer a way of booking this online, only at stations.
Or you might

Nighttrains are mostly months before the journey full occupied , one reason is that nighttrainscars use the space very inefficient , so most typs have only 5-9 compartments and at most nighttrains only run one sleepercar .

Well , the communication between DB and PKP is currently a bit "damaged" , so DB will sell the tickets 2 months in advance , but PKP only 1 months (28 days) in advance , one option is also to wait until 29th of June , also you can try to book the tickets on the website of the Polish railway intercity.pl/en . Btw. you will take EC 57 right ? Best regards @!
