Hi,

me and 2 friends are going interrailing for the first time ever (Paris-Barcelona-Florence-Rome-Vienna-Prague-Berlin), and we're really looking forward to it. However, none of us own a creditcard. I've booked the hostels in advance, using my brother's creditcard to pay the 10% deposit, but it is not an option for me to take his creditcard on my holiday. Is this a problem? We are planning to pay everything in cash at the hostels, and we do all have debit cards, but I'm a little worried that I need to show a ceditcard at the hostels for incidentals etc.

Can someone please take away those worries? You would be a lifesaver. :D

Thanks,
Juliën.

Hi Juliën,

I have been at several hostels which I pre-booked with a credit card (I dont have one) and just payed the remainder in cash. No problem whatsoever. :)
Most hostels at rail.shop/hostelworld also state if they are accepting cash/card/... payment at the arrival.

Thanks a lot Flo. With that everything is settled, so my journey can begin this July. Very much looking forward to it, I have never done anything like this before :)
