Hi

Me and some friends are planing to go by train on this route
Starting from Stuttgart or Munich-Paris-Amsterdam-Prague-Krakow-Budapest or
Starting from Stuttgart or Munich-Paris-Amsterdam-Krakow-Prague-Budapest

We want to buy a 5 in 10 pass.
Is this possible? Is there any night train to take us from Amsterdam to Krakow or Prague, so we would use only 1 travel day.
Should we stop in Brussels for a few hours and then continue our trip to Amsterdam in the same day?

Thank you
Bye

from Amsterdam you can go directly to Prague. the train departs at 19:01 so you can tap the 19:00 rule.

however, if you arrive to Amsterdam the same day when you leave then it is not important because you will already use this day(so you can stay in Amsterdam i.e. 2 days)

Hi.
Here a link additional to the information Hetman already gave you.

Is Germany your country of residence? As you are starting from there: then please keep in mind that you can NOT travel there for free (Munich/Stuttgart to the French border and night train Amsterdam-Prague!).

Thanks for your help.
I'm from romania so travelling in germany won't be a problem.
It seems i can't use that train. I'll start my interrail trip on the 24th of july. I plan to stay 2 or 3 days in each city. So probably i'll leave amsterdam on the 30th of july, +- one day. Is there any other night train i could use? To krakow or prague.

Hi!

There is no night train Amsterdam - Krakow; only the mentioned Amsterdam - Praha CNL. :)

München - Paris can also be made by night train; during the day you will have to use either ICE or TGV services with 10€ compulsory reservation.

Paris - Bruxelles - Amsterdam:

Well if you dont want to stop in Berlin I'd recommend to go with the overnight train Amsterdam - Praha and then during the day Praha - Krakow (change in Katowice). From Krakow again via Katowice on to Budapest.

I will have a 5 in 10 ticket.
From 23.07. until 28.08.2011 earlier departure in Amsterdam at 1741.
And because of this change it will probably cost me 2 travel days to go from amsterdam to krakow or prague. Doesn't matter wich will be first, but i intend to stay at least 2 days in each.

Do you have any idea how we could still do this trip like we planned?

Thanks

Humm...that's indeed a problem. As these are scheduled works and I think it is very unlikely you will be able to use the 1900 rule. What you could do is to get a regular ticket Amsterdam - Eindhoven (first stop after 1900) but this is quite expensive as well (~20€).
You could also go Amsterdam - Praha by day train... :)

Yeah, but we would waste a day on that. Do you have any idea how much a prague krakow ticket costs? Is it cheaper then a amsterdam eindhoven ticket? Or does netherland jave some kind of week-end discount for groups, like schones wochenende in germany?

Thanks

Hi.
The standard fare for Prague to Krakow is about EUR 39. Plus additional fees depending on the type of train.
I have no information about special prices in the Netherlands.
Peter :)
