Hi! Mu name is Mónica I'm 27 years old and I'm thinking to visit Prague - Warsaw - Vienna - Bratislava - Budapest, starting in Zurich. My idea is start in Zurich and do all this cities by train but in Budapest I need come back to Zurich by plane. So, what I want to know is if this is possibel with a interrail ticket and what is the best and cheaper option to travel between this cities.
Thank you :)

Hello Monica,
Everything depends how many days you would like to spend at each city? If you want to stay for day or two at each capital city - my suggestion is to use 5 days within 10 days for 259€.
In case of longer sightseeing tour you should use 10 days within 22 days for 369€.
Enjoy of your trip!

Gregory

Hi!
I guess you are Swiss citizen? Then remember that you will need a regular ticket till the border.
Anyway, a 5in10 can be good value if you want to stay more flexible during your trip. Otherwise, if you are willing to book a fixed trip in advance, you may be better off with regular pre-booked tickets.
Quick price comparison, regular tickets:
Zürich - Praha with CNL night train :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/zurich-prague-cnl-40470/38
4 bed couchette 139€
Praha - Warszawa ~ 54€
Warszawa - Wien ~ 63€
Wien - Bratislava ~14€
Bratislava ~ 28€
Total of ~298€
InterRail 5in10 plus reservation for 4bed couchette on Zürich - Praha: Total of ~294€
You see, not much difference here. :) You may get cheaper regular tickets in advance, but they are not refundable and you are then fixed on a certain train and a certain date. With the InterRail pass you gain the flexibility of hopping on/off the train as you want (except for night trains which require an additional reservation for couchette/sleeper; there are no day trains which require a reservation on your route).

Sorry I have 2 doubts..
- The only train between Zurich and prague is the night train?
- If I leave Bratislava, for exemple, around 8pm to Budapest.. Do I have train? How many hours between this cities?
Thank you :)

Hi!
There rule for country of residency is: If you live more than six consecutive months in Switzerland at the first day of your InterRail travel, you will need to get a Swiss InterRail pass > no free travelling in Switzerland
If you stay less than six months, you can get a Portuguese InterRail > free travelling in Switzerland
There are daytime connections as well; either via Lindau - München - Regensburg - Plzen or via Innsbruck - Salzburg - Linz - Budejovice including the scenic Arlberg line. Travel time ~10h - 12h, depending on route and connection.
What you could also do is going Zürich - Wien - Praha - Warszawa - Bratislava - Budapest
Bratislava - Budapest is ~2h45 with several direct EC trains; first train at 0553, last at 19h54
