Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with taking a different train to the one booked with the italian eurostar? I have a ticket booked and I have recieved the ticket, is there any way to exchange the ticket (the train is next monday) for a train a few hours later or will I be able to simply just take another time train and it should be fine?

Thanks.

Hi!

What kind of ticket have you booked?

- Regular ticket
- InterRail reservation

In any case, you will get troubles if you use another train than what is written on the ticket/reservation. Depending on the kind of ticket you will be able to refund it or not.

Thanks for the reply Flow. It is a reservation using an interrail ticket, pretty cheap. £9. Do you think it will be possible to exchange the reservation at a station in rome or florence for a later reservation? Also, if that isn't possible do you know whether I can buy a reservation for a eurostar train on the day of travel? (route being florence-Milan)

Thanks :)

Hej,

it depends on where you have bought the reservation. You will be only to return it there (in case you bought it at a station, eg at a DB station, you can only return it at a DB station, and so on...).
There are plenty of trains on the Firenze - Milano route so you should be able to get a reservation on the day as well. In the unlikely case you wont get a reservation there are several alternative ways to get there - by slower IC or regional trains. :)
