We are travelling Hamburg - Berlin - Prague - Krakow - Vienna - Bern - Stuttgart - Utrecht - Amsterdam

We have checked out train timetables etc and the route seems to be ok but I have two questions.

Prague - Krakow and Krakow - Vienna are overnight trains. How far in advance should we reserve a sleeper? How long in advance is usually needed for normal daytime trains?

Thanks in advance.

Sleepers you can usually book on the day but they may be full so best to book them online before you go if you can unless you want extra flexibility

Most other reservations you should be able to get maybe the day before from a station

Well, both night trains you are going to take cant be booked online so I'd say book them some days in advance from a station, eg in Berlin.

For day trains it should be possible in most cases to book them even on the day of departure - but all day trains of your route do not have compulsory reservation so you can just hop on as you like. :)
