Hello all!
This is my first post so I’d like to say polish halo: “Witajcie wszyscy” (welcome everyone)
I’m going to spend few weeks with my girlfriend at InterRail. I read some post on this forum and I think everybody can find many answers for frequently asked questions.
Please take a look for our trip and please tell me what do you think about it:
Start:
06.07. morning Prague – Budapest (3 days)
09.07. morning Budapest – Vienna (2 days)
11.07. morning Vienna – Munich (1 day)
12.07. evening Munich – Geneva (2 days)
14.07 morning Geneva - Dijon (2 days)
16.07. morning / evening? Dijon – Barcelona (2 days)
18.07 evening Barcelona – Paris (2 days)
20.07 morning Paris – Brussels (2 days)
22.07 morning Brussels – Amsterdam (2 days)
24.07 morning / night – Amsterdam – Poznan (Home :) )
Finish
Can we make it by using InterRaid 10day in 22 days? I think that this schedule fit to our holiday plans. Departure time could be changed +/- half day.
We’d like to avoid any extra fees if it possible. Any ideas from experienced colleagues? Maybe someone would meet us in any destination to have a nice conversation / drink some lock alcohols (we can provide some good polish liqueur)?
Regards,
Gregory

Hi Gregory!
In general I really like your route, however it is maybe a tiny little too much...if you want to do all trips with the 10in22, you should plan carefully - and you might need to use the expensive solutions to get to/from Barcelona due to time/travel day reasons.
OK, lets start. ;)
For detailed schedules please use the travel planner - I'm giving you just some suggestions here ;)
:arr: https://rail.cc/en/search-train-route
Any plans on how to go to Praha from home? With a regular ticket I suppose?
Praha - Budapest: Direct EC trains every two hours (or with a change in Breclav) without extra reservation needed; I recommend to take the train at 0939
Or take the night train :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/berlin-budapest-en-477/53
Budapest - Wien: Two hourly direct Railjet, no extra reservation; leave from Budapest at 0710 or 0910
Wien - München: Same, with Railjet; leave at 0814 or 1014
München - Genève: It is a long trip! Direct way is via Zürich, best connection (no reservation):
München 0713 - 1144 Zürich
Zürich 1204 - 1446 Genève
Genève - Dijon: Best way is via Lausanne and a TGV Lyria; travel time ~2h40min but 8€ reservation for the TGV; connections without reservation take more than 5 hours...
Dijon - BCN: OK, troubles begin. ;) If you do not want to pay reservation, the trip takes ~13h30... If you want to pay one TGV reservation (6€) it takes ~12h... If you are willing to pay for the fastest trip (~8h30) you will need two TGV reservation plus one Alaris (6,50€) reservation.
BCN - Paris: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/barcelona-paris-night-train/f1040 and https://rail.cc/en/barcelona-paris-day-train/f5503
Paris - Bruxelles and Bruxelles - Amsterdam: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/paris-brussels-bruxelles-train/f3992 and https://rail.cc/en/brussels-bruxelles-amsterdam-train/f3994
Amsterdam - Poznan :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/amsterdam-warsaw-en-447/91 attention, special fares are payable for you if you have a Polish InterRail pass. I can look them up if you need them. ;)
Have also a look at the features of the new railcc website! ;)

PS: I'm travelling myself at the time you are in Austria...otherwise we could have met in Vienna for a beer or so. :os

Now just find a good (near center) hostel and - adventure - here we come! 8)
Pity we'll miss each other...maybe another time :os

Hi,
I have a question. Do you know where after Vienna we can spend some time near sea / lake - taking some sunbath and swim? From Vienna is a little far to Split or Dubrownik, maybe Rijeka? Near Adriatic sea. Perhaps you have some experience of this issue? I could have a tent 8)
Consider rest of our route I think we'll drop Geneva - simply it's to expensive to find a Hostel. Prices are above 50€ for night...

Hi,
well you could go to Rijeka from Wien and then with the night train to München.
Or you stay more en route and go eg to Neusiedlersee, just about one hour from Wien; or go to the Salzkammergut which has some nice lakes.
Or which is also quite nice via the Semmering to Carinthia to one of the lakes there (Faaker See, Wörthersee, Millstätter See,...)
