Hi guys,
I will be travelling in Europe this summer and was wondering what the quickest route from Rome to Amsterdam would be. Night trains would be better so that more time can be spent in the cities:)
Thanks,
Will

Yeah, that's certainly the easiest and fastest option.
However, the Roma - Paris night train :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/rome-paris-en-206/9 is rather expensive as is the Thalys from Paris to Amsterdam (which can be avoided by taking slower IC and regional trains) :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/paris-to-amsterdam
Another option would be the night train to München :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/rome-munich-cnl-484/34 followed by ICE (no reservation needed) to Amsterdam
Travel time via Paris: 19h58 (can be shortened to 18h28 if you go by AV :arr: https://rail.cc/en-type-country/eurostar-alta-velocita---frecciarossa/trenitalia-av/50 to Milano and continue with Venezia - Paris night train :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/venice-paris-th-220/8
Travel time via München: 20h20 (can be shortened to 19h25 if you take AV to Firenze and enter the night train there)
A third alternative would be via Switzerland...I just stumbled over a daytime connection taking only 16h22... :)
