So yeah basically my trip is coming up and its at the end of this month, and i don't know if i should book all of my hostels in advance, because i don't know if i'll actually be there on time, or if i'm going to change my mind, my route it from barcelona-paris-brussel-amsterdam-munich-prauge-budapest-zagrab-venice-rome. i already have a place to stay in rome, as i have an apartment there.
What would happen if i turned up? would they still have rooms availble for 3 guests.
I'm going to definetly book for barcelona as it's when i first get there, but i'm still stuck on wether i should book at everyplace, as i may take a different route. thanks, stevie.

If you want to keep your itinerary flexible, then you can probably get away with not booking in advance. Just remember that the best places will always go first so you may not end up with the best hostels in town to choose from if you just show-up. Remember that you can check availability at the hostels several days before by checking-out [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] and even book if you are confident you are going to be there (this might be the best option if you are nervous about just turning-up on the day).
A few more tips is that weekends are always busier and the major cities (especially Paris and Amsterdam) are really busy so it may be worth at least booking a few days before and checking the availability of hostels throughout your trip.
I would avoid booking too your whole trip now as it gives you flexibility later if you dont like somewhere or want to go somewhere else. Like I say you can keep checking the availability of hostels right-up until you leave for that city.
And remember there are always night trains so some nights you may not need a hostel!
