Hello,

May I know if I could buy a inter rail pass in this case:

I hold a Chinese Passport, and live in the UK for 2 consecutive years until Feb 2011 when I moved to Switzerland. My UK resident permit(Student Visa) expire on 28.02.2011, and my Swiss resident permit start on 01. 02.2011. So until now I have not been lived in Switzerland for 6months. Could I buy a inter rail pass for countries other than UK and Switzerland? If so, how should I indicate my country of residence?

Thank you very much.

Hi Xinyin.
To be honest: I don't know the exact answer.
You should definitely by able to travel with an InterRail pass. But I don't know which country is considered as your European country of residence. My experience would say: the UK.

You certainly do qualify for Interrail. So you can ride the european iron roosters-they do not have hard sleeepers. IF you have some paper that registers your current adress in CH=Schweiz, this will taken as your country of residence-IR is not valid then for you to travel in CH-but you can get 50% off to the border on SBB-if you have Halbpreistax this gives no further reduction. Xie xie.
