Is there a route from Paris to Amiens which is free of supplements and/or reservation fees? :)
Also, is it possible to get a train from Amiens to Amsterdam?
Many thanks

Hi!
There are frequent trains running from Gare du Nord to Amiens which all do not require a supplement/reservation. Just enter the train with your IR ticket and sit down.
Fast connections (travel time ~1h5min) are for instance available at:
0704 | 0804 | 1007 | 1419 | 1610 | 1704 | 1734 | 1807 | 1904 | 2004
Amiens to Amsterdam:
Amiens 1410 - 1529 Lille Flandres
Lille Flandres 1608 - 1755 Antwerpen Centraal
Antwerpen Centraal 1800 - 2009 Amsterdam Centraal
No supplements/reservation; a similar connection is running every ~2 hours

Thank you!
P.S. A lot of our group have been debating whether to book hostels or not? Is it too risky to book them and then lose our deposit if we change route/miss our train?

Hi.
Especially if you are travelling in a group it is often worth to make a reservation in advance.
Most hostels you can cancel 24 hours before arrival.
Peter :)
