Hi,
I'm going on an InterRail trip with 5 friends of mine this August.
In our trip we've included Geneve, but the city is too damn expensive, and we would appreciate saving some money on accomodation. I know that probably the train station is not open the whole night. The first regional train to Lyon (our destiny) via Bellegarde leaves at 04:50 and probably the last arrival is at about 1 in the morning.
So, the question is: where to spend the night? As it is known as a very safe country, would you recommend that we just be in a park relaxing, or take a walk across the city? Or is the train station open 24hr?

The station is open 0430 - 0045. I think it is save to stay somewhere in the city during the night but I'd better head for a quieter place.
You could also take a late train to a small station in between Geneve and Bellegarde and stay there overnight but I cant give you recommendation about a certain place. :|
