Hi all,
Glad to find this informative website.....A friend and I will be traveling to Europe for 22 days starting from Paris. We had the plan as below, need some advise on whether is it doable and which is the better way to commute
Paris - 2 Days
Amsterdam - 3 Days - Perhaps Thalys from Paris
Berlin - 3 Days (Flying from Amsterdam)
Prague - 3 Days
Vienna - 2 Days
Venice - 1 Day
Florence - 1 Day
Rome - 2 Days
Barcelona - 3 Days (Flying from Rome)
Paris - 2 Days (Flying from Barcelona)
Basically we have bought 3 connecting flight tickets. The remaining have yet to be purchased.
Do you think above is doable? Alternatively, I thought of dropping Prague and Vienna while spend more time in Berlin (4 days) ,Venice (2 days), Florence (2 days) and Rome (4 days).
is eurail select pass the only way to commute? any cheaper alternatives?
Thank you very much in advance.

After much research, i decided to cut down the trip by removing Prague and Vienna.....
is there a direct train from Berlin to Venice? I found Munich to Venice but not from Berlin.
Also, it is advisable to buy the one country pass for italy if i were to travel from Venice - florence - pisa- rome?

Hi,
sorry for answering late. :|
Berlin - Venezia:
Berlin 1439 - 2042 München
München 2102 - 0638 Venezia :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/munich-zagreb-en-499/151
If you want to cover the Berlin - München - Italian border part with InterRail too it is better to get a 5in10 InterRail pass which you can also use for the domestic travel in Italy.
For Paris - Amsterdam I would then get a regular ticket bought in advance. Check at the Thalys website. If you need more details, just ask...I'm in a hurry now, gotta go... :os

Flo, Thanks a lot!
Gotcha on Berlin - Venice......looks like a long journey, might consider night train or flight :)
Gotcha on Paris - Ams too, Thalys does have good price if purchase earlier...but they have up till 2 Sep 2011 for now..i will check it out few days later!
What do you suggest for Venice - Florence - Rome?
Thanks a lot!

Hej..
Well, if you want to go Berlin - Venice - Florence - Roma by train, the 5in10 is best option.
If you only want to go Venice - Florence - Roma, think about the One Country Pass for Italy.
Attention, you have to get additional reservations on most long distance trains in Italy :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train-type/italy/it
