Is there a quick way from Milan to Rome? Some routes we find seem to take 20 hrs.
Can we use this with IR for free: xxxxxxx
Isn't there anything shorter then 20 hrs if we can't use the 3 hrs connection?
Also, what's the quickest connection between Rome and Venice?
Thanks.

Please don't be so lazy and copy the times here to the forum .
As links will time out at train schedules. Thanks.

Quicker connections available by Eurostar Italia trains with supplement.
Simply use the schedule planer. :)

Hi Peter
I'm travelling with the original poster. I don't understand what you mean.
Using rail-timetable-europe-train-schedule-t1025.html , the journey from Milan to Rome is 20:40 hours on Sunday 24/07/11.
When we use this site trenitalia.com the results show we can get 3 hour journeys, which I think are the Italian Eurostar trains. However, prices of 90 Euros and more come up.
If we purchase the global interrail ticket, can we use these trains for free with a small reservation charge?

Hi!
Please read this information you can find in the link Peter mentioned:
At the second weekend of December and at the beginning of June there are updates of the train schedules.
If you want to plan more than 3 months in advance or find a schedule later than the schedule changes, use the date of tomorrow to get some information and an impression of the travel times - as train schedules won't change a lot during the year.
Trenitalia (the Italian railways) is known to update their timetables for summer/winter very late - thus please do not use a date after the June schedule change (such as 24/7) but a date before (eg 5/6). Then you will find all connections, also the fast ES/AV trains you have found at the Trenitalia site.
However, this site only shows regular fares (as the 90€ you were quoted). With InterRail you need an additional reservation for ES/AV trains which is 10€. Follow the two links Peter provided for cheaper alternative routes.
