Hi,
Having read some of the tales about trouble getting TGV reservations for under €18 I was delighted to find that you can make InterRail reservations in advance through RE. They even have a nice info page that sets out the various reservation costs...

Trouble is, when I go to make one of these reservations the search always returns full price tickets, e.g. Paris->Lille is £40 (an example of a simple daytime journey I thought), Paris->Milan is £100+...
Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone had any success with this? I read on here somebody managed to get a sleeper train Barcelona->Milan for £42.50 a ticket, so must be possible...

Make sure on the homepage you select reservations and not tickets

I'm definitely selecting the 'Reservation' option under 'Rail Passes'. Even tried a couple of different browsers (Chrome and Firefox) to eliminate that too.

Right, solved it. I'm at work at the minute, and doing that exact search there returns one £18 and many more expensive. If I remote login to my home PC and do the same search I get all of the £5.50 reservations that you mention.
So it seems that the proxy server we go through at work was chewing up the results - how annoying! Now I'll have to plan my trip on my own time... xo
Many thanks for your help anyway, might have given up otherwise!

Hello.
We're currently planning our interrail trip and as I'm the main planner I have been worrying a lot about train reservations. We want to get to every destination in time... ;/
So I was really happy to discover RE reservation service, but... does it really work? No matter what stations do I choose, it says that it can't find any route :/

Hi.
Maybe you are searching for a date later than the 12th of June (small change in the European train schedules). Not all connections are listed already in the databases after this date.
But pay attention: as much as I know, RE won't send tickets to outside of the UK. And reservations might be more expensive than purchasing directly at a station.
Peter :)
