Hey guys!!

3 friends and I want to go on interrail in july, so we wanna buy a 1-month ticket. Now I hope that you can help me with your experience. We discussed and now we have decided, or we wanna visit these cities starting from Vienna.
Prag, Berlin, (maybe Hamburg), Amsterdam, Brüssel, Paris, Barcelona, then go eastward along the Côte d'Azur to Monaco then to Mailand and back to Vienna.

I told the others that I think it's too much for 30 days, so I would be very thankful if you could give me information or feedback if this route could be possible or if we should delete some of the cities from it.

Looking forward to your answers!

Greez from Austria!

well, lets start! :
- between Vienna and Prag there is so short distance to find out some interesting idea. train goes about 6 hours, lot of possibilities during a day...

- what do you think about instead Berlin go to Basel? these are different places BUT later there is nice direct connection between Basel and Amsterdam (22:00-9:00)(city night line)
and between Berlin and Amsterdam also exists direct connection but it leaves Berlin at midnight (arrive at 10) (also CNL)

- from Amsterdam to Paris the fastest connection is by Thalys buy also is quite expensive(about 20-30 euro)

- from Paris to Barcelona the cheapest way is to take Corail Lunea nigth train(some euro for reclining seat) which goes from P. Austerlitz station to Cerbere (border French-Spanish) and then regional train to BCN (for free)

- if you really want to go to Milano from Barcelona you have two options: expensive but comfortable (Elipsos night train, more than fifty euro for seat) or cheap but long (the fastest connection takes 15 hours and you will need reservations for 3 TGV so it is not so cheap(well, about 15euro, no more i think)

so, if i were you, i´d add Basel to this plan because of nice connection between Prag and Berlin and good connection between Prag-Basel-Berlin

Basel would be nice but It would be a too long way to go round...

If anyone else can give us tipps, it would be nice. We can need any info!
