I was just wondering how easy it is to book without doing it in advance? We planned on just finding one as we get into the cities. Or should we book?
We're going Paris-Amsterdam-Berlin-Krakow-Prague. We don't need any for Paris. We'll be going in July.
Cheers.

This is relevant to my interests. I am also wondering whether to plan ahead. Some friends and I are going round Europe in August, and while I think it would be most cool to just go with the flow once i got over there, I don't want to be stuck with nowhere to go in a place i've never heard of. is there much fear of this?

Hi.
If you want a good and cheap hostel, it is recommended to book some days in advance. But dorms are usually always available ... maybe not the best ones, but a bed for a night.
Check this website from time to time to get a feeling:
