I'm planning an inter railing holiday this summer to end in Greece, and as far as I know the pass does help with island hoping. But does it just get you a discount or do you have to use one of your travel days for each boat trip ?

Also has the current economic state changed how the inter rail pass can be used in Greece ?

Hi.
We update the information a soon as they change.
So the topics are up to date.

Concerning island hopping:
no discounts with InterRail, as InterRail is a RAIL pass and not a general travel pass.
You only get discounts on ferries when they are necessary. For example between Italy and Greece and Sweden to Finland.

More details:

At some companies you should get student discounts.

Hey there!
It IS possible to get 30% discounts on domestic ferries in Greece if you travelled to Greece with superfast ferries from Bari (Italy). More information at www.bluestarferries.gr/site/content.asp?sel=686&loc=2&query=interrail
I´m planning on doing this, this summer :)
