Hey everyone,

I know this is very short notice but I've been trying to reserve a seat on a night train from Paris to Barcelona but I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, can someone please give me a step by step guide as to how to do this?

Hi!

I need a little bit more information.

- When do you want to travel
- What ticket do you have/want to buy

In general, if you have InterRail, EuRail you can make the reservation for the direct Elipsos :arr: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/france/fr night train at a station in Paris. I dont think this is possible online. The cheaper alternative would be to use the domestic French Lunéa night train to either Latour de Carol or Portbou and then continue to Barcelona as described in the above link as well. Reservations for the Lunéa can be made online :arr: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/france/fr

Hey Flo,

I'm looking to travel tonight.
I currently have an interrail global pass that starts today and is good for 10days over 22 days. And which station would I make that reservation at for the Elipsos or the Lunea?

I suppose you are in Paris currently? I'd go to the nearest station, you can choose between Nord, Est, St Lazare, Montparnasse, Austerlitz, Bercy, Lyon.

I just checked, it seems that there are construction works on the line to Latour de Carol, so I'd recommend to use either the Elipsos (expensive) or the Lunéa to Portbou (cheap but slower); there are still seats and couchettes left for the Lunéa so no problem to get a reservation. :)

EDIT: Remember that you can use the 1900 rule on both night trains :arr: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
