Hi,
This may be a silly question already answered somewhere ... we are a family travelling with kids and we haven't bought our passes yet but want secure sleepers or tickets on the Bernina Express for example. Can we do that and get the discounts if we don't have our passes yet ? Or do we need to provide the pass number in order to be able to make the relevant bookings. :|
Thanks

Hi,
thats usually no problem. You can try to make the reservations at a SNCB station; if making online reservations you sometimes need the IR pass number, sometimes not - you have to try or read here :arr: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

you should be aware or this:
1.only possible at NMBS stations with international ticketing-there are fewer and fewer of that
OR by fone to the NMBS
2.there is an excessive extra servicefee of 8€-I do not know if that is per reservation or for the whole lot. in any case-you can only do a max of 3 or 4 at same time. (nr of RES-not of persons-a group counts as 1 time).
And count your luck: in many countries they (though they are supposed to do it) the railways simply refuse to do it without also buying a pass or ticket
BTW-there are No discounts at all for this-also not with pass.
