Hello,

I'm an Austrian citizen and wondered about reductions for trains within Austria. In particular, if they offer special fares for Interrail pass holders, how much is it? Is it cheaper than an ordinary VORTEILScard ticket? (Just to know whether it's worth driving to the next town with a ticket counter rather than just using the machine in my station :) )

Regards,

Christian

Hi Christian.

I am sure Flow will answer your question today or tomorrow (he just came back from his own rail trip).
As he is as well from Austria and know the details better than me.

Peter :)

Hi Christian,

you get a 50% discount for travelling to/from the border if you have an InterRail ticket - so it is the same discount as with a regular Vorteilscard ticket. Only difference: you get the ticket only at a counter, not online or at a machine (maybe in the train, never tried that).
So, you can just use the machine at your station. :)
