So one can get to Budapest, Zagreb, Sofia, Istanbul and apparently Sarajevo? but what about any other places?

You can go to Zürich (overnight, regular seats only), Wien (overnight, sleeper only), Bar/Podgorica (day and night), Venezia (overnight, couchette only),... Have a look at the schedule planner. ;)
Prices for night trains can be found at the different topics in the Serbia board, daytime trains usually do not require a reservation, with the exception of a few domestic express trains, but these are very cheap and are as well mentioned in the country board.
