Hey!
Can somebody help me?? Me and a friend are planning our first interrail trip. And we are in doubt with a lot of things...
We would like to go to Greece this summer, but is it possible? And is it possible to reach all these cities in 22 days?
Do anyone have suggestion to another route, where Greece, Italy and Croatia is included?
I'm looking forward to hear from you out there :D

Hi,
I suppose you are from Germany? If so, remember that you cannot travel within your country of residence with InterRail. You will need to get regular tickets to/from the border. These are 50% discounted (no ICE allowed if I'm not mistaken), or you look for special offers such as Europa Spezial
Greece might be a little difficult to get to by train this year...have a look at this link :arr: https://rail.cc/en/new-trains-from-thessaloniki-to-skopje-belgrade-and-sofia/f5508
I would not really recommend to go there unless you are willing to improvise... ;) Maybe go to Montenegro instead which is very nice as well?
Hamburg - Geneve: I would recommend to get a Europa Spezial ticket for the night train to Basel, then continue with the InterRail ticket to Geneve. No big deal so far.
Geneve - Roma: Direct way is via Milano; the problem is that both the direct EC Geneve - Milano as well as the fast AV Milano - Roma require a 10€ reservation.
What you could do: Take the EC to Milano in the morning (10€), then have a short walk around Milano (Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II) and continue with an IC (3€ optional but recommended reservation) to Roma in the afternoon.
Roma - Bari: Ferries leave for both Patras (Greece) and Bar (Montenegro)... ;)
If you decide on going to Montenegro, you arrive in Bar; cities where you should go to (by bus) are Kotor, Cetinje, maybe Budva and to Lake Skadar; by train go to the capital Podgorica and then via the spectacular line through the mountains (including Europes highest railway bridge) to Beograd. From Beograd there is an overnight train to Istabul :arr: https://rail.cc/en/belgrade-istanbul-night-train/f3567
On the way back, Rijeka is a little off route...if you want to go there, you have to go via Beograd again, then continue to Zagreb and finally to Rijeka. What you could also do is to go the Black Sea in Bulgaria, to Varna or Burgas...a little bit more adventurous.. ;) But it might be a little too ambitious considering you only have 22 days...
I hope this helps a little for a start. The trip should be definitely possible with the 22 day ticket although you should be careful to make your way back soon enough - to avoid being trapped somewhere without enough time left to return.
