Hi,
We'r making this journey and basically wondering the best way to do it! Is it to get a train to Milan, another to Geneva then another to Lauterbrunnen? Or is there a simpler way of doing it? And what are the IR fees?
Thank you for your help!
Sarah

Hi Sarah.

A fast connection:

Verona Porta Nuova dep: 0840 | Regional train - free of extra fees
Milano Centrale arr: 1035

Milano Centrale dep: 1128 | EC - reservation fee EUR 10
Spiez arr: 1353

Spiez dep: 1433 | IC train - free of extra fees
Interlaken Ost arr: 1457

Milano Centrale dep: 0805 | Regional train - free of reservation fees
Domodossola arr: 0938

Domodossola dep: 1014 | IR train - free of reservation fees
Brig arr: 1043

Brig dep: 1049 | IC train - free of reservation fees
Spiez arr: 1124

Spiez dep: 1133 | IR train - free of reservation fees
Interlaken Ost arr: 1157

Interlaken Ost dep: 1205 | Regional train - free of reservation fees
Lauterbrunnen arr: 1225

Thank you very much! I expect we'll go for the fast+reservation option hehe! Also, I've read the website and some of the posts on here but I just cannot grasp the IR method (sorry!) but if the trains do not require a reservation, do we still have to book a seat when we get there? Like buy a ticket without paying for one? Or do we just hop on the train without 'telling' anyone? Thanks for your help!

Hi.
It is definitely more relaxing using the fast method here.
If no reservation is required, just hop on the train and sit down on a free seat. Very easy. :)

Attention! Interlaken - Lauterbrunnen is operated by BOB Berner Oberland Bahnen which is not included in InterRail!
