Hello all,
Myself and a few friends are planning to go inter railing this summer and our proposed route is
Valencia - Barcelona - Marseille- Milan - Munich - Prague - Amsterdam
Just looking for some advice on getting between the above cities. We are still undecided on whether or not to venture to Milan and would be open to suggestions on other cities to visit between Marseille and Munich. Perhaps more practical ones as getting to Milan from Marseille seems quite awkward. Any help and advice would be appreciated!

Hi.
On the route [b]Barcelona-Marseilles[/b] cross the [b]Pyrenees[/b], definitely worth. A bit like an adventure with the Petit Train Jaune:

[b]Marseilles to Milan[/b] is easy to do.
First step by free regional train from Marseilles to [b]Ventimiglia[/b], then by direct Italian IC train to Milano. You don't need a reservation for this IC, but it is recommended (EUR 3) and you can buy it online.

From [b]Italy[/b] you have several options, either by night train from Rome, Florence or Venice (all three more interesting than Milano) to [b]Munich[/b].
Or cross the Alps by day train starting from Milano.

[b]Munich to Prague[/b]:

If you want to travel a little bit beside the beaten tracks (and you have enough time to travel), think about just crossing Italy...

And instead of Marseilles, chose [b]Nice[/b]. As Nice is nice ... ;) And the have two good hostels both called Saint Exupery.
