Barcelona-Montepellier-Nice-Florence-Rome-Munich-Prague-Berlin-Amsterdam-Brussels-London

Hi guys!

So the above is my initial outline of my interrail route. I know it's very ambitious and I was just wondering if anyone would be able to offer suggests or improvements?

The part from Montpellier to Rome is especially iffy so if anyone could offer any suggestions I'd be ever so grateful!

also, when travelling in Italy it seems it would actually be wiser to buy the tickets rather than use a day of my interrail travel?

Thanks :)

Hi.
When traveling between Spain and France, have a look at the Petit Train Jaune crossing the Pyrenees - then have your stop in Montpellier.

Try to get supplement free regional trains. It is possible. Use the schedule planer:

In Nice you have two nice hostels, both called Saint Exupery.

In Italy: short distances are fine using single train tickets for. Book them early and you will get good discounts.
If you travel by InterRail, avoid the Eurostar trains (EUR 10 per train extra fees).
Use either free IC trains (but reservation recommended for EUR 3) or free Regional trains.

Rome-Munich: possible by night train: https://rail.cc/en/rome-florence-munich-night-train/f3741

Munich-Prague: no reservation fees: https://rail.cc/en/munich-prague-train/f5108

Prague-Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/prague-berlin-train/f3360
