Hi!

My friend and I are planning an interrail trip in Italy and/or France in the begining of july. On [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] it seems that we can easily find a good enough hostel (dorm) to about €25 (in Rome) - that is if we book today. However, our hope is to be able to book during the trip, like the day before staying there or something. Is this even possible in cities like Rome/Florence/Venice/Milano/Nice/Paris? Do you know anything about how much the prizes will increase compared to the prices today? (We have no idea so any approximation is appreciated.)

Thanks! :)

Hi.
Usually the prices won't increase - except there is a trade fare or special event in one of the cities. But these higher prices are already in the system months before the date.
I prefer as well booking short time before arrival to stay flexible.
But travelling in peak travel time summer, I recommend to book the hostels in all these cities in advance. Maybe even one week in advance.
IF you are not fixed on good rankings or cheap prices, then booking one or two days in advance will be okay: but these won't be the best hostels then.
Peter :)
