Hi, Ill be volunteering in Italy in July and have a month before that in which I hope to do a bit of interrailing around eastern Europe.
Ill probably be doing the standard, Dubrovnik, Hvar and the Islands. I also have to visit Belgrade to see some friends.
I was just wondering if I could get some advice about how to fill out the rest of my time in an around that area of Eastern Europe.
My budget will be around £1000-£1500 for that month. Is this enough for that part of the world? Ill be staying in hostels and I won’t be eating out regularly, but I hear the Croatian coast is pretty pricey these days!
Cheers

1.IR is fairly useless for the trip you mention. No train at all to DUN, buses along the coast, or that coastal boat by Jadrolinija.
2.money: it is not a question of can it be done-but more accurately: what can I do for it. Check a site like hostelworld (also via this site) and see wher hoStels are (I hope you know the exact meaning of that word) and see: there are hardly nay. No, that does not mean 5** HTLs-the lowcost accomm along the coast is private rooms-touted by ladies renting them out at bus/ferry stops. As one can read in any sensible guidebook. Now take a deep look into yourself and estimate your ability to abstain from beer and alco, luxury and willingness to adapt. Adapt length of trip to an adequate daily figure of money available.
