Hello..

For part of our travels in May, we plan to travel from Vigo to Barcelona. Apparently there is a 'Trenhotel' called 'Galicia' that runs on this route. I cannot find any information on how much of a supplement we would have to pay. I would be grateful if anyone could advise me whether this would be a cost effective option..

Thanks in advance,
Cathy :)

Hi Cathy,

unfortunately, this Trenhotel only carries first class accomodation. The cheapest reservation is for 1st class reclining seats Butaca Gran Confort and is 10€. However, as these are 1st class, as are the sleeper accomodations I am not sure if it possible to use the train with a 2nd class InterRail at all. If it is, you will have to pay for reservation plus for the difference between 2nd and 1st class... I am trying to get more detailed information about that.. :)

Hi,

just got it confirmed:

You can use this train with 2nd class InterRail as well; you will need to pay 10€ for the reservation plus the difference 2nd > 1st class which is ~33,40€

Thank you so much Flo - that is really helpful...

Do you happen to know if I need to make a reservation in advance, or could I just turn up a bit early on the day and make the reservation??

Thanks again!
Cathy

Hi Cathy.

I recommend some days in advance, if you know your exact travel date.
Just go to a Spanish train station. Optionally you can book it as well from outside of Spain by phone and pick your tickets up at a Spanish railway station. See the link an scroll down to SPAIN:
