Hey so i'm in the very VERY early stages of my planning. So i'm planning on going from june 30th until july 30th. and finish in italy as i have a place to stay in italy for an additional 2 weeks.

I don't know how to start my trip, or which route to take. But i don't wan't to back track. and it seems i will unless i fly into barcelona then travel up. but the places i want to go are as follows.

Paris
Barcelona
Brussels
Amsterdam
Munich
Prague
Vienna
Budapest
Zagreb
Then finish in italy.

Origonally i wanted to do greece too, but i think its to unreasonable as i would have to travel to far to get there. Unless anyone knows of anything i don't?

I'm much appreciate any help, or info or a recommended route would be a godsend.

Thanks Stevie, Sharmaine, Adam.

Hi!

First, have a look here regarding travelling to Greece :arr: https://rail.cc/en/new-trains-from-thessaloniki-to-skopje-belgrade-and-sofia/f5508

I would recommend two possible routes:

1)
Dover - Calais by ferry :arr: https://rail.cc/en/ferry-london-paris-england-france/f1222 then continue to Paris by train
Paris - Barcelona including the Petit Train Jaune :arr: https://rail.cc/en/paris-pyrenees-barcelona-le-petit-tain-jaune/f4023
Barcelona - Bruxelles: going to Cerbère, then with overnight train to Luxembourg, finally to Bruxelles
Bruxelles - Amsterdam :arr: https://rail.cc/en/brussels-bruxelles-amsterdam-train/f3994
Amsterdam - München :arr: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-munich-night-train/f3745
München - Praha :arr: https://rail.cc/en/munich-prague-train/f5108
Praha - Wien - Budapest :arr: during the day using reservation free EuroCity respectively Railjet trains
Budapest - Zagreb :arr: https://rail.cc/en/budapest-zagreb-train/f4053
Zagreb - Italy :arr: https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-venice-train/f3663 or https://rail.cc/en/zagreb-venice-night-train/f1389

2)
Harwich - Hook van Holland ferry :arr: https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/ then continue to Amsterdam by train
Amsterdam - Bruxelles - Paris :arr: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-brussels-train-thalys/f3991 and :arr: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/thalys/41
Paris - Barcelona :arr: as above
Barcelona - München :arr: again, night train from Cerbère, this time to Strasbourg, from Strasbourg continue with regular trains to München
Rest of the trip as above

Basic info :arr: https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303

Hi.
Just check the country topics, there you will find what you need: https://rail.cc/en/countries

Barcelona-Paris:
https://rail.cc/en/barcelona-paris-day-train/f5503
https://rail.cc/en/barcelona-paris-night-train/f1040
https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/

I recommend the route trough the Pyrenees, including the Petit Train Jaune. And then by the French Corail night train (cheap and good) to Paris.

Peter :)
