Rome: somewhere to stay for 2 weeks in August

Heya this is my first interail trip and i'v been working my but off trying to sort out my route. But we are going interailing for a month and will finish in rome, then we want to stay in rome for two weeks. from july 30th until august 12th, then we will fly home back to london.

I'v been struggling to find a place to stay, we've been looking at vacation rentals but they all cost so much, was just wondering if anyone knew any cheap and nice places that may have a discount for stay a long period of time? there are three of us, and we'd prefer a tripple room, but we wouldn't mind anything really, as we will proberly be staying in dorms all over europe.
