Hi!

I am starting my first interRail trip 1.5.2011, when I will fly from Turku to Gdansk. I have planned to leave from Gdansk next day, and take a night train to Krakow. In Krakow I will visit Auschwits(take a train to Oswiecim). After about 2-3 days in Krakow I will head to Prague(whitch places are worth of visiting?)and be there a. 2 days. Then continue to Vienna and (innsbruck, some mountain village could be nice). Take a train to Berlin- Amsterdam-Hamburg-Kopenhagen to Stockholm and finally end up home over the baltic se to Turku.

1. I have planned to buy 22 global pass, whitch would give me total freedom to travel when ever I want. BUT would 10/22 pass be better noticing my travel route? it is kind a lot cheaper, Please help!

2. I Have a little problem about The Berlin. After Austria is berlin too far a away? should I skip that or visit there earlier? Those are places where I wanted to go.

Thanks a lot,

x Anna

Hi Anna.
The 10 in 22 InterRail Pass should be fine...
1 - Gdansk-Krakow
--- Auschwitz
2 - Krakow-Prague
3 - Prague-Vienna
4 - Innsbruck
5 - Vienna-Berlin
6 - Berlin-Amsterdam
7 - Amsterdam-Hamburg
8 - Hamburg-Copenhagen
9 - Copenhagen-Stockholm
10 - Ferry to Turku

Auschwitz you can do by local traffic ... don't spent one of your travel days for it.
When using night trains, have a look on the 1900h-rule: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train

Hi!

I think one of my posts disappeared .. it was about recommended places in Austria? I`m going to Vienna, but it would be nice to see something different also than big cities. I like mountains and lakes, What is the most beautiful place in Austria ;) ? where I should definitely go?

Hej,

you could go to the Salzkammergut which is quite nice and easy to reach by train from Vienna. Have a look at Gmunden, Bad Ischl, Hallstatt,... :)

A nice way to go there would be via the Gesäuse but there is only one train running on weekends.

If you need more details let me know.
