Hello all :)

I'm hoping to travel around Europe by Rail for a couple of months from June 2011 by myself. I aim to visit around 10 countries.

I'm trying to do some research on how to plan out my journey as best as I can, so I am well prepared...

Are there any really important points that I should try to keep in mind?

I will have roughly around £3000 budget for my 2 month travel which I'm hoping will be enough, and I guess it's best that I have all the hostels booked before I leave, right? I'm totally new to this!

Plus I'm not entirely sure which site is best to order my ticket from as most only seem to give a 1 month travel ticket option.

I'm really looking forward to the adventure that lies ahead of me but I want to try and gain as much knowledge as I can before I set off.

I appreciate any feedback!

Hi Jez,

to begin with, some basic infos: ;)

- I dont think it is neccesary to book all hostels in advance. Better stay flexible while travelling! Maybe you want to spend some time longer at a certain place, if you would have a hostel booked already you couldnt do that or lose money already paid for the hostel. You might also meet other travellers you want to join or that give you tips about a nice place... :)
- If you want to support our work here please buy your ticket at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - thank you! :) There is no 2 month InterRail ticket but you can buy two separate 1 month InterRail tickets if you want to.
- Have fun

If you need any specific info regarding travel routes, tips etc...just have a look around at the forum or ask here. :)
