We have assigned ourselves 12 days in August, but we're worried that our choice of destinations is a bit ambitious as most people seem to aim to visit all these places in the period of about a month... Does anyone have any advice as to what our best options are for interrailing in a short time period?! We're very new to all this... :'( We'd be very grateful for any advice you can give us!

Thank you so much in advance for your help..!

Hi!

I think this is a nice route for ~12 days; go with the 5in10 Global pass. I suppose you are from the UK? How have planned to get to Amsterdam/go back home?

With a 5in10 I would suggest a route like this:

1 UK - Amsterdam: Instead of going by plane I would recommend to take the ferry Harwich - Hook van Holland :arr: https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/ From Hook it is not far to Amsterdam - dont use the InterRail ticket yet, instead buy a regular ticket when you arrive.
2 Amsterdam
3 Amsterdam - Berlin (start of your InterRail ticket)
4 Berlin
5 Berlin
6 Berlin - Praha
7 Praha
8 Praha
9 Praha - Wien in the morning, in the evening overnight train to Venezia :arr: https://rail.cc/en/vienna-venice-night-train/f3671
10 Venezia
11 Venezia
12 Venezia - airport - back home

Three days in Venezia are quite much in my opinion, so you could leave already on day 11 to another city in Italy where you get a cheap flight home, stay there overnight and then leave on day 12.

Have also a look here :arr: https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303

Hi,

Me and 2 of my mates are doing the exactly same route starting on the 11th August. After Prague we aren't sure exactly where we are going maybe Monaco or Milan but we eventually end up in Barcelona. Barcelona seems a nice place to finish?

Just an idea anyway :)

Have a good trip

Hi.
It depends on how much travel days you have. But I wouldn't stay in Monaco. Chose Nice in France and have short trips to visit the places around, like for example Monaco.
From Prague, think about traveling: Krakow - Budapest - Zagreb - Lake Bled - Italy - along the coast (Nice) to Barcelona.
And don't miss the Little Yellow Train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/villefranche-de-conflent-to-latour-de-carol
And please help us to help you with the information on railcc - buy your official Interrail pass via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - as it is not fair to ask at railcc for support and buy somewhere else. Thank you! :)
Peter :)
