Hi,

We are planning to travel the above route during August-Sep 2014 (Ljubljana-Vienna-Salzburg-Munich-Cologne-Berlin-Amsterdam). We are planning to buy the 22 day ticket, does this sound a feasible route? This is our first interrail journey and so any suggestions would be welcomed!! Any suggestions for places to visit in between these cities would also be greatly appreciated. :D

Also, as we are both students, we are looking to stay in hostels and budget hotels - any recommendations for places to stay in any of these cities would be wonderful.

Many thanks

Hi.

You can easily do this trip within 3 weeks.

Just some additional places which are nice to stop on your route are Lake Bled in Slovenia and for example Budapest or Prague as well. If you want, extend it to Krakow in Poland.

A route could be: Ljubljana - Lake Bled - Budapest - Vienna - Salzburg - Munich - Prague - Berlin - Cologne - Amsterdam

Check the country topics where you will find all the details you need:

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply - we have looked up Lake Bled and it looks gorgeous! We will definately be adding this into our intinerary.

We have booked flights out to Ljubljana from the UK, but were wondering if anybody knew what the cheapest way to get back from Amsterdam to the UK is? We are very flexible as to where in the UK we travel back to!

Many thanks :)

I would recommend the ferry Hook van Holland - Harwich as a nice ending to your trip :arr: https://rail.cc/en/ferry-netherlands-england/f1659 :)
