Hi!
Now that the trains no longer run to Thessaloniki, how can I reach the city from Skopje? Are there buses running, if so how often and how much do they cost?
Do the trains in Macedonia go all the way down to the border, or do they finish in Skopje?
From Thessaloniki we plan to continue up to Sofia, is there a bus going there as well? Or can we take a bus to the closest bordering town and continue from there by train?
How much would the bus to the border/Sofia cost?

The trains run from Skopje twice daily to the border station of Gevgelija.
Have a look at this topic :arr: https://rail.cc/en/new-trains-from-thessaloniki-to-skopje-belgrade-and-sofia/f5508

for the BG part about the same-local trains run till border stop/station (Strymon or so?). You can walk over the border to the GR part there. KTEL buses run to Thess=the nationwide Greek local bus. Look at busstation.net for possible links. But DO realise that in these parts of this world buses do not take it for granted to put anything on the www. or if they do-to keep that uptodate. Oh-next anxiety-it works just like in the UK or Liverpool-pay driver (or conductor=the 2nd man on board)
Of course (why even ask?) there are also through buses Sof/or Bgrad-Skopje-to GR/Thess (lok at a map-you hardly can go any other way). Buses run commercial and hence are likely to jump into any chance on making money the railways leave them,
